Our Actions and how they relate to our Vision

In a year's time Autumn 2017 (date) we aim to :

 

Progress the project to reorder the interior of the church:

Liaise with architect and obtain faculty for the work of reordering the church interior.  

Work towards raising funding,including grant applications.

Set up ‘Friends of’ group.

Ask for ‘sponsor a seat’ pledges.

So that : We can make clear progress towards the re-ordering.

Success will be: Well on our way to being able to get the work done, with a reasonable timescale for completion.

By Whom : PCC; Heritage Core Committee; Friends Group.

When : Ongoing

 

Offer weekly prayer times, with different days/times/styles across the month (to be decided after consultation.)

This will include building on our existing Prayer for Healing time, and introducing times of quiet prayer.

So that: We will pray together more, and become more committed and confident in prayer.

Success will be : Prayer times established and people taking part.

By Whom : Initially the Lay Reader (KW) but ultimately including other leaders.

When: To start as soon as days/times agreed by consulting church members

 

Identify and implement a social activity which will appeal to the 20s – 40s age group
e.g. A monthly film night.

So that: people currently attending Families Service will build up friendships within church and be more open/confident to more specific discipling initiatives .

Success will be: This group more established in their church membership and beginning to increase their involvement.

By Whom: Existing members in the 20s-40s age group.

When: In the New Year

 

Open church and provide refreshments, initially for one afternoon per week (Thursday) 2.45 -4.00pm,
To provide a venue for parents/carers waiting for children, and anyone else in the community who would like to drop in.

So that: more parents/carers/children will get to know us, and know that we care about them. Interest in church, and events for children/young people will be raised  and help the church to grow

Success will be : Open afternoon established and people attending.

By whom : Team to be established for church opening.

When: Autumn 2016 onward

 

Invite members of village uniformed organization to attend families services and to contribute.

Success will be : Uniformed organisations attending several times a year.

By Whom : Children and Young Persons’ Work Co-ordinator;

When: Autumn 2016 onward

 

Review and update communications

Including website, church directory, online calendar. Appoint team leaders for additional roles e.g. Social and Fund raising co-ordinators, Publicity Officer.

So that: Church members are better informed; workload is shared better; duplication of effort is minimized.

Success will be: More people active; people able to focus on using their gifts,and to discover their calling.

When: From Autumn 2016

 

Continue to promote and develop collaboration with Gonerby church

e.g. Benefice Service, ‘Shine’ Service.

So that: links between our churches are strengthened, and we can share gifts and talents.

Success will be: greater interaction between our churches.

When: Already begun – ongoing.
